Ann Curry
Ann Curry, an American journalist and photojournalist who has been covering wars, natural catastrophes for more than 45 years. Her focus is on the suffering of people in these areas. Curry has reported on wars all over the globe, and has reported on conflicts in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry (born on November 19th, 1956 in the city of Agana) was an American anchor, television reporter and journalist. Her most renowned work was as a correspondent on The Today Show, a morning news program broadcast by National Broadcasting Co. Her reporting stood out for her coverage of humanitarian crises occurring in war-torn nations and natural disasters. Curry's mom is Japanese and her father is an American Navy sailor. After World War II, her parents met when her father was stationed in Japan. In the wake of her father's army service, the family was often moved. Curry attended high school in Ashland, Oregon. Curry graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism of the University of Oregon. When she was 22, she became the station's only female reporter. She later became anchor/reporter for KGW which was located in Portland Oregon. In Los Angeles, she became a reporter on KCBS TV within four years of arriving in the city. Over the course of her six years working for the channel, she won two Emmy Awards.
